The NFL suspended Pittsburgh Steelers receiver DK Metcalf for two games without pay Monday, one day after he took a swing at a fan in Detroit. Metcalf can appeal the suspension, which, if it is upheld, would make him eligible to return Jan. 5, which would be after the Steelers' final two games of the regular season.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the interaction was not a random confrontation. Pelissero reported that Metcalf and the fan involved have a prior history dating back to Metcalf’s time with the Seattle Seahawks. During Seattle’s Week 4 visit to Detroit last season, Metcalf reportedly alerted Seahawks security about the same individual.
