There is a guest code of conduct similar to what Rodgers was calling for as he spoke to the media. Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Lions found no violation of this code and do not plan to take action against him. The NFL does plan to follow up with the Lions after hearing from Metcalf and others during his appeal.
Metcalf was not penalized for his interaction, as the incident took place off the field. The fan was not ejected from the game, per the Free Press. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin did not pull Metcalf from the game either, and he finished with 42 yards receiving on four catches.

“I got word, obviously, I’m not condoning putting your hands on a fan or punching a fan, but he did call [Metcalf] a racial slur,” Johnson told his co-host Shannon Sharpe. “He called him the N-word, and he did call his mom a [expletive]. I think with those words being exchanged and the fan saying that, that’s where the action occurred.”
